RULES:-Make
a five minute DV film inspired by architect Luis Kahn's statement that "LA
is truth, whether you like it or not." -Deadline
extended to June 15, 2001 -Best
10 films to be screened at Raleigh Studios August 3, 2001. -You
may submit on either MiniDV or VHS, but remember that your tape will not be returned. -Films
will be screened on MiniDV. We will make the screening copy for you. -If
possible, send supporting materials with tape: stills, synopsis, credit list,
filmmaker
biography, statement of purpose, and anything else you want us
to see! -The screening
will be held August 3 at Raleigh Studios care of Cine-Nites.
The venue will be announced shortly. -Cash
Prizes: $250 first prize; $150 second prize, and $100 third prize. Jury members
to be announced. -Remember,
the theme can be interpteted very liberally! Do not feel you necessarily have
to make a documentary about the actual city of Los Angeles. Just try to keep it
under 5 minutes . -You
may submit more than one film. Just send $10 per film. -Mail
tapes, supporting materials, and checks (payable to The LA Filmmakers' Co-op)
